About us.
WWF Sicilia Centrale is made up of a group of volunteers who work for free, all the activities carried out in the area are financed by donations. The volunteers of WWF Sicilia Centrale care about the nature of the planet and their territory. By helping the WWF, even the nature of your territory can be protected! WWF Sicilia Centrale is active in the territory of central Sicily, thanks to volunteer activists who passionately promote the program and positions of WWF Italia at a local level. The Association operates democratically, is non-profit and pursues civic, solidarity and social utility purposes, making use mainly of the voluntary work of its members, other volunteers, as well as members of WWF Italia.
Activities.
The Association has as its purpose the protection of the environment and the conservation of the biodiversity of species and ecosystems, as well as the implementation of interventions and services aimed at safeguarding and improving environmental conditions and the careful and rational use of natural resources. The work of the volunteers is aimed at protecting the biodiversity and the natural heritage of the region; in all these years the volunteers have promoted the correct management of natural resources, have asked for a strengthening of the legislative system for the conservation of nature, have indicated and implemented good practices for the protection and management of biodiversity, have strengthened the level of knowledge and awareness of the impact of our actions on the future of the planet and, above all, have tried to bring people's hearts closer to Nature and to make citizens aware of the richness and beauty of the species that live in Italy and in the world and in Sicily in particular, together with the risks of their extinction.
